The first step will be to implement spam "tagging" to allow end users to make more informed decisions regarding what mail to filter, discard, or read. Antivirus software should also be added that will scan all attachments for viruses before delivery. This project is currently in the research/planning phase.
Web-based e-mail is provided via bamamail.ua.edu, which an installation of Imp on bama.ua.edu. Preliminary plans include moving this onto two load-balanced dedicated servers.
